In short

JuraUp is a tracking app for people on GLP-1 medications. It is not medical advice, and it is not a substitute for a doctor — always check with your healthcare provider before changing your medication, dose, diet, or activity. By using JuraUp, you agree to use it for personal, non-commercial tracking only. We provide JuraUp "as is" and we cap our liability at the amount you have paid us in the last twelve months (which is zero if you use only the free tier). Disputes are resolved first by emailing support@juraup.app, then under Egyptian law in the courts of Alexandria, with EU users' GDPR rights preserved separately.

If anything below is unclear, write to support@juraup.app and we will explain in plain language.

1. Acceptance

By creating a JuraUp account, downloading the app, or using any part of the JuraUp service, you agree to these Terms of Service ("Terms") and to our Privacy Policy at https://juraup.app/privacy/. If you do not agree, do not use JuraUp.

These Terms together with the Privacy Policy form the complete agreement between you and JuraUp.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old and legally capable of entering into a binding contract under the laws of your country to use JuraUp. JuraUp is intended for adults on prescribed GLP-1 medications under the care of a licensed healthcare professional.

If you are accessing the app on behalf of an organisation, you confirm that you have authority to bind that organisation. (For v1, JuraUp does not offer organisational accounts; this clause is here for completeness.)

3. Your account

3.1 Single account per person

You may create one account per person. Multiple accounts run by the same person, or accounts shared between multiple people, are not permitted.

3.2 Accurate information

You agree to provide accurate information when you sign up and during onboarding (your medication, dose, weight, etc.). The medication-level estimate, dose-rotation suggestion, and other features rely on the accuracy of what you enter.

If your medication or dose changes, update your profile so the app reflects reality. If you stop taking your medication, you can either keep your account paused or request deletion (§ 10).

3.3 Credentials

You are responsible for keeping your password confidential and for all activity under your account. If you suspect your account has been compromised, change your password immediately and email support@juraup.app.

4. License to use the app

We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to install and use JuraUp on devices you own or control, solely for your personal, non-commercial tracking purposes.

This licence does not include:

  • Reselling, sublicensing, or redistributing JuraUp
  • Reverse-engineering, decompiling, or disassembling the app (except where applicable law expressly allows it, such as the EU Software Directive's interoperability provisions)
  • Stripping or modifying any copyright, trademark, or other proprietary notices
  • Using the app's screens, brand, or content for commercial purposes outside your personal use

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Use JuraUp in any way that violates applicable law (Egyptian law for Egyptian users, the law of your country of residence for users elsewhere)
  • Attempt to gain unauthorised access to other users' accounts or to the JuraUp backend
  • Use automated tools (bots, scrapers, scripts) to interact with the app or backend, except for accessibility tools that act on your own behalf
  • Submit deliberately false health information that could mislead a healthcare provider reviewing the app's PDF reports
  • Submit content that is illegal, harassing, or that infringes others' intellectual property
  • Probe, scan, or test the security of JuraUp's systems without our prior written permission

We may suspend or terminate your account for material breach of this section.

6. Subscriptions and payments

6.1 Current state — v1

JuraUp v1 has no paid subscriptions. The app is free to use in its entirety. We do not currently process any payments and do not share any payment-related data with any third party.

The current functionality includes:

  • Logging doses, weight, meals (with four entry methods including AI photo scan), symptoms, water, habits, and progress photos
  • The last 30 days of historical data shown in routine in-app views
  • Doctor-ready PDF reports for any date range, in English or Arabic
  • Local notifications for upcoming doses
  • Bilingual EN + AR with full right-to-left support

6.2 Future paid features

We are preparing infrastructure to introduce optional premium features in a future version of the app. When that release ships, these terms will be updated before any payment is processed, and the change will be communicated as described in § 14 (Changes to these Terms).

Currently no JuraUp version offers a paid tier. If you encounter a screen offering a paid subscription in v1, please report it to support@juraup.app — that would be a bug, not an intended feature.

7. Medical disclaimer

JuraUp is a tracking tool. It is not medical advice. It is not a medical device. It does not diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease.

Specifically:

  • The medication-level estimate is a statistical approximation based on your dose history and published pharmacokinetic models. It is not a measurement of the actual concentration of medication in your body. Do not use it to make dosing decisions.
  • The injection-site rotation suggestion is a convenience helper to remind you to vary sites; it is not a medical recommendation. Follow your healthcare provider's guidance.
  • The doctor-ready PDF reports are intended to summarise your tracked data for sharing with your healthcare provider during appointments. They do not constitute a clinical assessment.

Always consult your licensed healthcare provider before:

  • Adjusting your medication or dose
  • Changing your diet or activity in response to data the app shows you
  • Acting on any symptom you log

JuraUp is not liable for any medical decision made on the basis of data the app shows you. Decisions about your health are between you and your healthcare provider.

8. AI scan disclaimer

The AI photo nutrition scan is provided via OpenAI's gpt-4o-mini Vision model. The model returns an estimate of calories and macronutrients based on visual analysis of the image you provide.

These estimates are:

  • Approximate — typically within 20–40% of true values, but errors of more than 100% are possible (especially for portion sizes, hidden ingredients, or photos taken in poor lighting)
  • Not a substitute for reading a nutrition label, consulting a registered dietitian, or weighing food
  • Not for medical use — do not use AI scan output to make decisions about insulin dosing, allergy avoidance, or any other medically critical determination

Use AI scan to log meals quickly when nothing better is available; cross-check with the manual or barcode entry methods when accuracy matters.

9. Intellectual property

9.1 JuraUp's IP

The JuraUp brand, logo, app code, design, screens, and accompanying content are owned by Ahmed Hossam. All rights are reserved except as expressly granted in these Terms.

9.2 Your data

You own the data you put into JuraUp — your profile, doses, weights, meals, symptoms, water, habits, photos, and notes. We do not claim any ownership over your data.

You grant us a limited licence to store, transmit, and process your data solely for the purpose of providing the JuraUp service. This licence ends when you delete your data (subject to the 30-day grace period in the Privacy Policy).

9.3 Feedback

If you send us feedback, suggestions, or feature requests, you grant us a perpetual, royalty-free licence to use that feedback to improve JuraUp without any obligation to you. We will never publish your feedback identifiably without your explicit permission.

10. Termination

10.1 By you

You can stop using JuraUp at any time, with or without reason. To delete your account and all associated data, go to Settings → Account → Delete my account. A 30-day grace period applies (see Privacy Policy § 7).

If you have an active Premium subscription, cancelling the subscription is separate from deleting the account — cancel via the platform's account settings (§ 6.4), then delete the account if you also want all data removed.

10.2 By us

We may suspend or terminate your account if:

  • You materially breach these Terms (e.g. § 5 acceptable use)
  • We are required to do so by law
  • Operating JuraUp becomes legally impossible in your country
  • We discontinue the service entirely (in which case we will give at least 30 days' notice and provide an export tool so you can take your data with you)

If we terminate for breach, we will tell you why if legally permitted. You may appeal by emailing support@juraup.app.

10.3 What survives termination

Sections 7 (medical disclaimer), 9 (IP), 11 (disclaimers / limitation of liability), 12 (indemnification), 13 (governing law), and any other section that by its nature should survive, will survive termination of these Terms or your account.

11. Disclaimers and limitation of liability

11.1 "As is"

JURAUP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE", WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT.

We do not warrant that:

  • The app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or always available
  • The information shown by the app is accurate, complete, or up-to-date (especially the AI scan estimates and the medication-level estimate — see §§ 7 and 8)
  • The app will meet your specific needs

11.2 Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law:

  • For Premium subscribers: our total aggregate liability to you for any claim arising out of or related to JuraUp or these Terms is capped at the amount you have paid us during the twelve (12) months immediately preceding the claim.
  • For free-tier users: our total aggregate liability is capped at zero (USD 0.00) because you have not paid us anything.

We are not liable for:

  • Indirect, consequential, special, incidental, or punitive damages
  • Loss of profits, revenue, business opportunities, or data (beyond what the export feature in § 8 of the Privacy Policy can recover)
  • Damages caused by your reliance on the app's information for medical decisions (see § 7)

These caps and exclusions apply even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages, and even if a remedy stated in these Terms fails of its essential purpose.

11.3 Mandatory consumer rights

Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties or the limitation of liability for certain damages. If you live in such a jurisdiction (notably, EU member states under consumer-protection laws and Egypt under the Consumer Protection Law No. 181 of 2018), some or all of the disclaimers and limits in this section may not apply to you, and your statutory consumer rights are preserved.

12. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Ahmed Hossam (the operator of JuraUp) from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or in any way connected with:

  • Your breach of these Terms
  • Your misuse of the app (including § 5 violations)
  • A third-party claim arising from data or content you put into the app

This indemnification does not apply where the claim arises from our own gross negligence or wilful misconduct, or where applicable law prohibits indemnification (notably, EU consumer-protection rules limit how broadly an indemnity can run against a consumer).

13. Governing law and disputes

13.1 Governing law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Arab Republic of Egypt, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules.

13.2 EU users — preserved rights

If you are a consumer resident in a European Union member state, you may also rely on:

  • The mandatory consumer-protection rules of your member state of residence
  • Your rights under the GDPR, which apply regardless of the choice of law

Nothing in these Terms removes those rights.

13.3 Informal dispute resolution

Before starting any formal proceeding, please email us first at support@juraup.app. We will read your concern and try to resolve it within 30 days. Most issues can be sorted this way without anyone going to court.

13.4 Formal dispute resolution

If informal resolution fails:

  • For Egyptian users: disputes will be resolved exclusively in the competent courts of Alexandria, Egypt.
  • For EU users: in addition to the Alexandria courts, you may also bring proceedings in the courts of your member state of residence, as permitted by EU consumer-protection rules.
  • For users elsewhere: disputes will be resolved in the competent courts of Alexandria, Egypt, except where the mandatory rules of your country of residence allow you to bring proceedings locally.

14. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms if our service or legal requirements change. When we do, we will:

  • Update the "Last updated" date at the top
  • For material changes (price changes, expanded data sharing, new processing categories, jurisdiction changes), notify you in-app and (if you have a verified email on file) by email at least 30 days before the new version takes effect

You can always read the current version at https://juraup.app/terms/. Continued use of JuraUp after the new version takes effect counts as acceptance.

15. Severability

If any clause of these Terms is held by a court of competent jurisdiction to be invalid, illegal, or unenforceable, the remaining clauses will continue in full force and effect, and the invalid clause will be reformed to the minimum extent necessary to make it valid (or, if reformation is not possible, severed entirely).

16. Entire agreement

These Terms together with the Privacy Policy constitute the entire agreement between you and JuraUp regarding your use of the app, and supersede any prior or contemporaneous agreements, communications, and proposals (whether oral or written) between you and JuraUp.

No waiver of any term will be effective unless in writing and signed by JuraUp's authorised representative. Failure to enforce a term is not a waiver of that term.

17. Contact

For any question about these Terms:

  • Email: support@juraup.app
  • Postal mail: Ahmed Hossam, Alexandria, Egypt — for the full correspondence address, contact us at the email above and we will provide it privately.
