Frequently asked questions

How do I delete my account?

In the JuraUp app: Settings → Account → Delete my account. Your account is disabled immediately and your data is permanently erased after a 30-day grace period. Sign in again before then to cancel the deletion.

Is my data shared with anyone?

Only the third parties that make the app work, and only for what's strictly necessary: Cloudflare (hosting + encrypted photo storage), OpenAI (the meal-photo scan, only when you tap that feature), Sentry (anonymized crash reports — no medical values, no user identifiers), and RevenueCat (subscription management when you upgrade to Premium). We never share your data with advertisers, data brokers, or marketers. The full breakdown is in the privacy policy § 5.

Does JuraUp give medical advice?

No. JuraUp is a tracking tool — it shows you the data you log, summarizes trends, and produces reports you can share. It is not a medical device, does not diagnose any condition, and does not substitute for advice from your healthcare provider. Always consult your provider before adjusting your medication, dose, diet, or activity.

Can I export my data?

Yes — Settings → Privacy → Export my data. The app produces a single JSON file with everything you've logged: profile, doses, weights, meals, symptoms, water, habits, photo metadata, and entitlements. Free and Premium users alike get the full export, regardless of the 30-day history visibility cap that applies to in-app browsing on the free tier (this is a GDPR right-to-portability requirement).

Is JuraUp HIPAA-compliant?

No. JuraUp is a consumer wellness app, not a HIPAA-covered entity. We do not have a Business Associate Agreement with healthcare providers. If you need a HIPAA-compliant tracker (e.g., for a clinical study), JuraUp isn't the right tool. Your data is still protected at the privacy and security level that GDPR (Europe) and the Egyptian Personal Data Protection Law 151/2020 require.

What happens to my data if I uninstall?

Your account data persists on our servers until you sign in again or until you explicitly request deletion. Uninstalling and reinstalling the app and signing in restores all your tracked history. To permanently remove your data, use the in-app delete flow (Settings → Account → Delete my account, with a 30-day grace period).

How do I change my email or password?

In-app: Settings → Account. Email and password updates take effect immediately. If you've forgotten your password and can't sign in, email support@juraup.app from the address on your account and we'll help you recover access.

Why does the app need camera permission?

Two specific features use the camera: weekly progress photos (you choose when to take one) and the AI meal-photo scan (you tap "Take a photo" in the Nutrition tab). The app never opens the camera in the background and never streams images anywhere without an explicit tap from you. We also request photo-library access so you can pick an existing image instead of taking a new one — same use cases, no background access.
